Bodhi Brandes has spent more than forty years working with acrylic and specialist resins — a journey that began in 1983, when he discovered a Western Australian workshop crafting furniture from a crystal-clear, man-made material and was, in his own words, absolutely enthralled. Trained in art and design in San Francisco, advanced ceramics at Durham University, and hardwood craftsmanship under a German master of Japanese woodcraft, he brought an artist's eye and a maker's discipline to an industrial material. As founder and long-serving managing director of Exclusive Acrylic in Australia and then Dubai, he led the engineering, fabrication, and installation of large-format acrylic structures around the world — from the 8.6-ton Plexiglas Diamond of Brunei to heavy-gauge domes for Expo 2020. He founded Bodhi Brandes Project Management Services LLC to place that experience on the client's side of the table: independent, engineering-led project leadership for complex architectural and water-related projects.
